What is an Accountant's Certificate of Confirmation?

An Accountant's Certificate of Confirmation is a document issued by an accountant certifying that they have handled the individual’s business or business accounts.

The UK Home Office has clear rules about which accountants are authorized to issue financial certificates.
Who can issue an Accountant's Certificate of Confirmation?

Only practicing accountants who are members of the following can provide this document:

• Practicing accountants registered with a UK Recognized Supervisory Body (RSB) under the Companies Act 2006.
• Practicing accountant members of the Institute of Financial Accountants (IFA).

Applicable Visa Types — Mainly for individuals applying for UK settlement (Indefinite Leave to Remain) via the 5-year route, including:

• UK Tier 1 Immigration Visa
• UK Tier 1 Investor Visa (for remaining applicants)
• UK Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa (for remaining applicants)
• UK Spouse Visa (applications made from outside the UK)
• UK Unmarried Partner Visa and Civil Partner Visa applications made from outside the UK
• FLR(M) Visa (switching from other visa categories to partner visa or extending partner visa within the UK)
• Unmarried Partner Visa
• Children whose parents are applying for or have been granted entry clearance or leave to remain as partners, and whose parents’ partners (UK sponsors) receive specific benefits
• Children whose parents are applying for or have been granted entry clearance or leave to remain as parents
• Accompanying parents of children with UK visas
• Adult dependent relatives applying for indefinite leave to remain or settlement
• Indefinite Leave to Remain / Settlement under any of the above categories

Note: Most accountants will only issue certificates to existing clients whom they know and have verified financially. If they do not know or are unsure about the applicant, they typically will not accept new client requests easily. Please be aware.
